VCT 2134 - Filmmaking 4: Applied Cinematography

Course Description: This advanced filmmaking industry course covers the technical application of cinematography to storytelling and examine how story guides production decisions. Topics include the advanced use video cameras, camera supports, lighting, and other accessories, along with advanced techniques for editing. Students have an opportunity to plan and shoot advanced film productions for college coordinated clients.

Note: Some class assignments require students to move, lift, and carry video equipment.

Note: The basis of this industry is to travel to the location of the subject to be filmed. With this in mind, students will be required to travel to locations off-campus and outside of class times to film content for this course. It is the student’s responsibility to provide themselves with reliable transportation or adequate arrangements for rides.
