DENH 1080 - Dental Hygiene Principles II

Course Description: This is the second in a series of three DENH principles courses. Students will review the rationale for delivery of dental hygiene services and be introduced to care and management of patients with special needs.

  2. develop a dental hygiene diagnosis.
  3. construct a dental hygiene treatment plan that is based on the dental hygiene assessment, problem list, and dental hygiene diagnosis.
  4. describe appropriate dental hygiene care for patients throughout the life cycle.
  5. discuss anticipatory guidance strategies appropriate to a patient’s needs.
  6. analyze a dental hygiene case study.
  7. discuss modifications of dental hygiene care for patients with special health care needs.

  10. recognize reporting requirements and responsibilities for a dental hygienist.
