INTD 2040 - Dimensional Drawing

Course Description: This course focuses on dimensional design drawings of interior spaces. Students will render floor plans, elevations, and draft one and two point perspectives of interior spaces. This course builds upon all interior design studio classes.

Prerequisite(s): INTD 2001  with a grade of C or higher.
Corequisite(s): None
Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment in INTD 2002 .

Major Content
  1. rendering floor plans and elevations
  2. drawing an isometric grid
  3. drawing furniture pieces in isometric
  4. drawing interior spaces in isometric
  5. drawing a one-point perspective grid
  6. using the one-point perspective grid, draw interior spaces in one-point perspective
  7. drawing a two-point perspective grid
  8. drawing interior spaces in two-point perspective
  9. completing sketches of furniture and/or interiors with or without a grid aid
  10. assembling a comprehensive portfolio

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students will be able to:

  1. sketch furniture and interiors.
  2. draw isometric drawings of furniture pieces and interior spaces.
  3. draw one-point perspective drawings of an interior space.
  4. draw two-point perspective drawings of an interior space.
  5. render floor plans and elevations.
  6. assemble a comprehensive portfolio.
