RADT 1040 - Radiographic Exposure Factors

Credits: 3
Hours/Week: Lecture NoneLab None
Course Description: The course is an introduction to the science of radiographic image production and explores the details of the principles of radiographic exposure techniques. Topics of discussion include film processing, intensifying screens, grids, contrast, density, control of scatter radiation, and the management of human body variables in image production. Emphasis is placed on methods to minimize radiation exposure to the patient and self. Image production and viewing using the advances of digital radiography and associated computer technology are included. In addition, the course introduces students to the computer network systems that store, transmit, and retrieve digital radiographic images. Students will apply classroom theory in the clinical setting.
