COS 1068 - Cosmetology Capstone

Credits: 3
Hours/Week: Lecture 2 Lab 2
Course Description: This capstone course enables students to update current skills in all areas of cosmetology. This course prepares students for the demands of a salon by using the peer teaching/learning process. This course prepares students for the state licensing exam and certification of skills. Students must be able to perform physical tasks to complete course requirements. This course requires a minimum of 900 hours in Cosmetology.

  13. Finalize skills needed for certification (practical exam).

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students will be able to:

  3. select the correct chemicals for desired service.
  4. demonstrate correct haircutting techniques for the desired style.
  5. demonstrate safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste.
  6. demonstrate knowledge of cosmetology theory.
