The Automotive Body Technician AAS Degree is designed to expose students to all facets of the auto body industry: unibody and frame, computer estimating, damage analysis, refinishing and major structure repair. This AAS degree prepares students to meet the collision industry’s expectations of a quality entry-level technician. In addition to these core concepts, the general education courses required will help ensure that students have the necessary oral, written, and critical thinking skills to help with their professional responsibilities.
Course placement into ENGL 0950 and RDNG 0950 or above OR completion of RDNG 0940 with a grade of C or higher OR course placement into ESOL 0051 and ESOL 0052 and ESOL 1033 OR completion of ESOL 0041 with a grade of C or higher and ESOL 0042 with a grade of C or higher and ESOL 0043 with a grade of C or higher.

Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program students will be able to:
- Students are able to measure, mix, and apply paints, primers, and sealers.
- Students are able to measure, mix, and apply body fillers.
- Students are able to hang, fit, and adjust body and interior panels.
- Students are able to perform auto body mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Students are able to evaluate and estimate collision damage and repairs.
- Students are prepared to take the ASE certification tests in the following areas: Painting and Refinishing, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair, Structural Analysis and Damage Repair, Mechanical and Electrical Components, and Damage Analysis and Estimating Certificate Test.
- Students are able to begin a career as an entry-level technician in the collision industry.
- Students will demonstrate oral, written, and critical-thinking skills necessary for management and leadership positions.
