The Web Design AAS Degree prepares students for careers in web design. The program places a strong emphasis on creativity and design. Students are introduced to front and development concepts. Using industry standard software, students learn to build content in HTML5, CSS3 and other modern web languages. A host of web development frameworks along with working knowledge and understanding of modern web design trends, UI/UX, responsive design and the implementation of iterative design processes are explored to better equip students with the skills necessary to execute their designs and compete for jobs designing and developing websites in the web design industry.

Goal 2: Critical Thinking
Fulfilled when all MnTC goals for this degree are complete.
Goal 3 and/or 4: Natural Sciences/Math/Logical Reasoning
Minimum of 3 credits; one course from either Goal 3 and/or Goal 4.
NOTE: Goal 3 courses do not have to be lab courses. Goal 4 courses must be numbered between MATH 1025 and MATH 1082 , or PHIL 1041
Goal 5: History/Social/Behavioral Sciences
Minimum of 3 credits.

Goals 7-10: Theme Goals

This program is intended primarily for employment preparation rather than transfer to a four-year institution. Some courses may not transfer to a number of four-year colleges. - Demonstrate proficiency with technology related to the area of web design and development.
- Prepare and demonstrate a portfolio of work for the annual VCT Program Portfolio Show.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the web design/development life cycle.
- Create flexible and responsive websites that are reflective of entry level industry standards.
- Create rich and scalable web sites with relevant industry tools.
- Generate and communicate solutions for business and industry needs.
