GRDP 2067 - Color Concepts for Graphic Design Credits: 3 Hours/Week: Lecture 2 Lab 2 Course Description: This course explores color theory, perception, and application, through a series of exercises and projects aimed at honing color acuity and the ability to translate concepts into applied digital skills. Topics and activities emphasize the emotional impact of color within the context of a client’s needs and objectives. Course structure consists of introductory concept lectures, technical instruction, lab time with guidance, and group critique of finished assignments. MnTC Goals None

Learning Outcomes At the end of this course students will be able to:

analyze the emotional response to color, color symbolism, and anomalies.

apply proper color techniques to a variety of printed and web-based materials.

present and articulate how colors are used and chosen for a particular design outcome.
