OFFT 2012 - Medical Office: Disease Concepts Credits: 2 Hours/Week: Lecture None Lab None Course Description: This course is intended for students interested in medical office careers. It is an overview of the language and nature of disease and its treatment. Students will study disease conditions organized by body systems. This course requires completion of or to be concurrently enrolled in OFFT 2010. MnTC Goals None

Learning Outcomes At the end of this course students will be able to:
- Describe the fundamental nature of disease.
- Describe the prevention, etiology, signs and symptoms, diagnostic treatment modalities, and prognoses of common disease conditions
- Identify medical references to research common diseases and conditions to stay current with trends and developments in medicine.
- Discuss principles of infection.
