DENH 2040 - Legal Aspects of Dental Practice

Course Description: This course focuses on the ethical and legal implications of providing dental and dental hygiene care. A case study approach is used throughout the course to provide students experience in resolving legal and ethical dilemmas in a simulated dental office setting.

  1. explain the scope of practice for dentists, dental hygienists & dental assistants.  

  2. apply 6-step Ethical Decision-Making Model to simulated ethical dilemmas. 

  3. differentiate between civil and criminal laws.
