NURS 2025 - Nursing Simulation

Hours/Week: Lecture None Lab None
Course Description: This course provides an opportunity to increase knowledge and nursing skills within a specialized lab or clinical setting utilizing the Nursing Learning Resource Center, acute care or community settings. The course builds upon content taught within the Nursing Program while providing the opportunity to expand experiential learning and go beyond the basics in a specialized field of nursing. This course requires successful completion of at least one nursing course, Healthcare Provider CPR certification, background clearance, and required immunizations.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students will be able to:

  1. utlize the nursing clinical judgement model to provide safe patient care. 
  2. develop specific independent nursing interventions related to patient care scanerios. 
  3. demonstrate competence in performing selected psychomotor skills.
  4. utilize technology and information systems to enhance healthcare information.
  5. apply theoretical concepts from the nursing field to the care for simulated patients.
