Prerequisite(s): Assessment score placement in RDNG 1000 or above, or completion of RDNG 0900 or RDNG 0950 with a grade of C or higher. Corequisite(s): None Recommendation: Completion of ENGL 1021 with a grade of C or higher.

Learning Outcomes At the end of this course students will be able to:
- demonstrate awareness of the scope and variety of works in Modern World Literature.
- describe, compare, and analyze the political, economic, and cultural elements in Modern World Literature which influence relations of states and societies.
- respond critically to works in early 20th century world literature articulate an informed personal reaction to works in early 20th century world literature
- analyze basic literary elements in works studied
- analyze works as expressions of individual and human values within an historical and social context
- analyze Modern World Literature in relation to international, cultural, economic, and political differences.
- demonstrate knowledge of cultural, social, religious, and linguistic differences in Modern World Literature
