GNDR 2099 - Gender Studies Certificate Capstone Credits: 1 Hours/Week: Lecture 1Lab None Course Description: This course will give students an opportunity to reflect on and synthesize the material completed for the Gender Studies Certificate. Students will complete a portfolio demonstrating their proficiency in the common learning outcomes recommended by the National Women’s Studies Association for the field of Gender Studies. Prerequisite(s): Completion of at least three courses toward the GNDR Studies Certificate and consent of instructor. ENGL 1021 with a grade of C or higher. Corequisite(s): None Recommendation: None

- Instruction in eFolio and/or other relevant portfolio modalities
- Overview of portfolio requirements
- Review of selected NWSA Common Learning Outcomes for Women¿s Studies Programs
- Transfer options for WGST Certificate students
Learning Outcomes At the end of this course students will be able to:
- evaluate the application of Women and Gender Studies to their future academic and professional careers.
- produce written and/or oral reflections on their intellectual development with respect to the material they have studied.
- synthesize material from courses completed for the WGST Certificate.
- demonstrate mastery of selected NWSA ¿Common Learning Outcomes¿ for Women Studies Programs as appropriate to a 16-credit certificate award with written and/or oral examples.
- discuss the importance of critical self-analysis in understanding the perspectives and theories of Women and Gender Studies.
