INTD 1055 - AutoCAD for Interior Design Credits: 3 Hours/Week: Lecture NoneLab None Course Description: This course focuses on presentation skills and drawing production. Topics will include drafting Existing Floor Plans, New Construction Floor Plans, Furniture Plans, Lighting and Electrical Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Elevations and Details. Students must provide a personal laptop with AutoCAD-Architecture, which may be downloaded from Autodesk prior to the first class meeting. MnTC Goals None
Prerequisite(s): INTD 1020 with a grade of C or higher. Corequisite(s): None Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment in INTD 1050 and INTD 2001

- use the Design Template Library in their interior design plans.
- compile a custom made Interior Design Library using design templates and blocks.
- set up a custom Interior Design Title Block per industry standards.
- draft a Title Sheet with a Sheet Legend.
- design a custom interior design logo.
- plot a set of drawings utilizing the viewport method per industry standards.
- plot a set of drawings on the large scale plotter per industry standards.
- navigate between model space and paper space.
- set up a drawing with ASID industry standard layers.
- set up a drawing with architectural font and architectural font dimensioning.
- set up a drawing to be used as an external reference to be utilized in a drawing set to meet Interior Design and Architectural standards.
