Learning Outcomes At the end of this course students will be able to:
- identify the advantages of acquiring and maintaining adequate muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility throughout the lifespan.
- design a resistance training program that applies the principles of conditioning.
- implement a resistance training program using variety of resistance machines, free weights, body weight, and other exercise modalities.
- explain guidelines for safely beginning and progressing their resistance training program.
- assess current fitness levels.
- discuss the role of exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle.
- identify the components of a comprehensive fitness program.
