TRIN 1035 - Structured Language Enhancement Credits: 1 Hours/Week: Lecture 1Lab None Course Description: This course provides a structured environment for students or professionals seeking to improve their language skills. Students explore theories, models, and techniques related to language enhancement for novice interpreters. Classroom and homework activities focus on goal-setting, reflection, self-assessment, deliberate practice, and preparation for the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) test. Successful completion is contingent upon passing the OPI exam at a minimum level of Advanced Mid. Test scheduling and payment are the responsibility of the student. MnTC Goals None
Prerequisite(s): TRIN 1000 with grade of C or higher or concurrently enrolled. Assessment score placement in RDNG 1000 or completion of RDNG 0900 or RDNG 0950 with a grade of C or higher, assessment score placement in ENGL 1021 or completion of ENGL 0090 with a grade of C or higher; or instructor consent.
