Program Description
The Accountant diploma includes an expanded exposure to accounting practice. Graduates are prepared for entry-level jobs as junior accountants, full-charge bookkeepers, associate accountants, and accountants. The program includes an introduction to income tax preparation, cost accounting, accounting for intangibles, and bond amortization.
Program Prerequisites
Proficiency in keyboarding (30 WPM or OFFT 1001 ) - recommended.

Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities required for entry-level accounting positions.
- Recognize standards of professional ethics in the accounting field.
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically to identify and solve accounting problems.
- Describe the accountant/client relationship.
- Communicate effectively and work in teams as appropriate for the accounting field.
- Identify, interpret, and apply tax law to income tax preparations.
