This certificate presents a good overview of information for potential or current leaders in the public safety field. It provides formal recognition that the student has a basic understanding of public safety leadership.
Should the student elect to proceed with the program and seek a degree, this certificate fits into the Public Safety Associate in Applied Science Degree as a specialty track.

At the end of this program students will be able to:
- Analyze lifelong ethical and professional responsibilities of public safety personnel.
- Demonstrate effective decision making, critical thinking, and communication skills in written and verbal form.
- Examine the interactions between public safety agencies.
- Understand hiring practices, training evolutions, subcultures, attitudes and orientation of public safety agencies.
