Program Description

The Psychology Transfer Pathway AA degree offers students a powerful option:  the opportunity to complete an Associate of Arts degree with course credits that directly transfer to designated Psychology bachelor’s degree programs at Minnesota State universities. The curriculum has been specifically designed so that students completing this pathway degree and transferring to one of the seven Minnesota State universities enter the university with junior-year status. All courses in the Transfer Pathway associate degree will directly transfer and apply to the designated bachelor’s degree programs in a related field.

Minnesota State universities include:  Bemidji State University; Metropolitan State University; Minnesota State University, Mankato; Minnesota State University Moorhead; Southwest Minnesota State University; St. Cloud State University; and Winona State University.

Special Instructions

Students planning to transfer to a university outside of the Minnesota State system are advised to consult with their intended transfer institution as early as possible to determine transferability of the courses in this Transfer Pathway degree.

Goal 3: Natural Sciences


Minimum of 7 credits. Two courses from two different disciplines with at least one traditional lab course.
A course in Biology that focuses on humans is strongly recommended, such as BIOL 1020 , BIOL 1021 , BIOL 1023 , BIOL 1024 , BIOL 1033 , BIOL 1041 , or BIOL 2031

Three credits in each of four Goal areas selected from Goals 7, 8, 9 or 10 are required. Many courses from Goals 1-6 also meet Goals 7-10. One course may fulfill a maximum of two Goals. Credits count only once.
