Program Description
This certificate prepares students to develop both platform-specific and cross-platform mobile applications. Students who complete the certificate will be able to create applications that are optimized to run natively on the major mobile systems such as IOS and Android. Students will also be able to create cross-platform applications that will run uniformly and consistently on multiple systems. Students who complete the certificate will have a foundation in general application programming, a thorough understanding of mobile technologies and concepts and advanced knowledge in specific techniques required for mobile application development on multiple platforms.
Program Prerequisites
Course placement into MATH 1061 or higher or completion of MATH 0070 with a grade of C or higher.

This degree transfers into the Computer Science Bachelors degree at Metropolitan State University through an articulation agreement. Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program students will be able to:
- design, code, test, and document general application programs.
- demonstrate proficiency in developing platform specific (iOS and Android) mobile apps.
- demonstrate proficiency in developing cross-platform mobile apps.
- describe the differences between cross-platform and platform-dependent mobile development.
- design state-of-the-art mobile app user interfaces.
- describe the different security issues facing mobile apps and implement appropriate security measures into the application development life cycle.
