This program is intended primarily for employment preparation rather than transfer to a four-year institution. Some courses may not transfer to a number of four-year colleges. If you are considering the possibility of transfer, you may wish to talk with your advisor, counselor, or program instructor before registering to discuss your goals, look at programs designed for transfer, and develop a plan.
Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program students will be able to:
- describe the basic structure and function of cells and tissues used in biofabrication.
- successfully complete the bioink preparation process, including selection of the bioink most appropriate for a particular bioprint construct.
- utilize 3D CAD and related software to successfully produce files for bioprinting.
- effectively operate a bioprinter to print a 3D construct with biological material.
- demonstrate proper microscope and staining techniques to analyze viability of 3D-printed biological material.
- demonstrate understanding of quality control aspects, processes, and workflow of the medical manufacturing setting.
