This certificate often is intended for transfer to a four-year institution. If you are considering the possibility of transfer, you may wish to talk with your advisor, counselor, or program instructor before registering to discuss your goals and develop a plan. Students may also want to complete Century’s entire 40-credit Minnesota Transfer Curriculum or Associate in Arts Degree. The Century College Gender Studies Certificate has articulation agreements with Gender Studies departments at Minnesota State University Moorhead and University of Minnesota Duluth.

Program Learning Outcomes

At the end of this program students will be able to:

• Demonstrate knowledge of selected NWSA “Common Learning Outcomes” for Gender Studies Programs.
• Discuss the importance of critical self-analysis in understanding the perspectives and theories of Gender Studies.
• Synthesize material from courses previous completed and apply it to the everyday life.
• Produce written and/or oral reflections on their intellectual development with respect to the material they have studied.
• Evaluate the application of Gender Studies to their future academic and professional careers.
