Program Description

Graduates of the Horticulture Technology AAS degree will have a strong knowledge of landscape and greenhouse practices as well as general horticultural skills in plant identification and fertility management. Students can select elective courses to focus on landscape design and installation, grounds management, or plant production. Business management and horticultural operations are emphasized to prepare students for supervisory and management positions and self-employment.

Program Learning Outcomes

At the end of this program students will be able to:

  • Prepare production schedules and grow greenhouse plants.
  • Identify and solve pest, water, and fertility problems of landscape plants.
  • Install and maintain landscape trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants.
  • Design, plan, and install hardscape elements.
  • Demonstrate a strong work and personal ethic through care of horticultural tools and facilities.
