Program Description
The CJS Private Security Certificate is designed for Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement students and working professionals who have an interest in the field of private security. This certificate program provides students with a comprehensive overview of the field of private security and its role in securing the country’s critical infrastructure. Students will also examine the role of investigations in private security.

Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program students will be able to:
- Analyze lifelong ethical and professional responsibilities of public and private security personnel.
- Demonstrate effective decision making, critical thinking, and communication skills in written and verbal form.
- Examine the interactions between public safety agencies and security agencies.
- Understand hiring practices, training evolutions, subcultures, attitudes and orientation of public and private security agencies.
