Program Description

The 3D Animation AAS degree prepares students for 3D animation careers throughout a variety of industries including visual communications, 3D game design, entertainment, forensic animation, and 3D medical animation. Students gain the comprehensive skills of animation, modeling, texturing, visual effects, character design, and rigging that can be applied to any project. Emphasis is on providing the valuable technical, concept, and design skills necessary for those wishing to obtain a position as a 3D artist in the visual communications industry.

At the end of this program students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate 3D Animation and Modeling skills that meet entry level industry standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with technology related to the area of 3D Animation.
  • Prepare and demonstrate a portfolio of work for the annual VCT Program Portfolio Show.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the 3D development pipeline.
  • Generate strong digital artwork reflective of entry level industry standards.
  • Generate and communicate solutions for business and industry needs.
