CTSA 1013 - Introduction to Windows Server Operating System

Course Description: This course covers the skills needed to effectively manage the Microsoft Server operating system environment. The course addresses how to use functions and utilities, manage program properties, manage hardware devices, and install operating system and applications. This course helps to prepare students for professional certification.

  4. Creating and Implementing Server Storage
  5. Creating and Deploying Virtual Machines and Networks

  7. Implementing and Managing Group Policy
  8. Configuring Domain Name System (DNS)
  9. Managing File and Share Access
  10. Configuring Print and Document Services
  11. Manage and Monitor Server Updates, Protection, Backup, and Performance
  12. Configure Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  2. install and upgrade Windows Server.
  3. manage server roles and features.
  4. prepare for Active Directory installation.
  5. configure network and security settings
  6. create disks, volumes, and storage
  7. create virtual machines, hard disks, and networks.
  8. create domains, sites, organizational units, users, and groups utilizing Active Directory.
  9. create Group Policy objects
  10. manage Group Policy settings, policies. rights, and security options.
  11. configure Domain Name System (DNS).
  12. manage file and share access.
  13. configure print and document services.
  14. implement Windows Server updates, protection, and backup services
  15. monitor Windows Server performance and events
  16. configure Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
  17. Troubleshoot Windows Server issues
