COS 1068 - Cosmetology Capstone Credits: 3 Hours/Week: Lecture 2 Lab 2 Course Description: This capstone course enables students to update current skills in all areas of cosmetology. This course prepares students for the demands of a salon by using the peer teaching/learning process. This course prepares students for the state licensing exam and certification of skills. Students must be able to perform physical tasks to complete course requirements. MnTC Goals None

- Current trends in hair styling.
- Develop peer teaching/learning skills.
- Finalize skills needed for certification (practical exam).
- Hazardous waste.
- State licensure exam.
Learning Outcomes At the end of this course students will be able to:
- evaluate current trends in cosmetology.

- select the correct chemicals for desired service.
- demonstrate correct haircutting techniques for the desired style.
- demonstrate safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste.
