VCT 1021 - Flash Interactive Media I

Course Description: In this hands-on, project-oriented course, students will explore the concepts and practical applications of the multiple digital mediums of animation, digital graphics, digital audio, digital video and interactivity, authored with Adobe Flash. This course covers the fundamentals of interactive media with Adobe Flash including image creation, animation with motion tweening, special effects, and basic interactivity with ActionScript.

  2. The tools of Interactive Media - Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Soundtrack, Final Cut Express HD
  3. Using Adobe Flash - the interface
  4. Symbols and Instances
  5. Animation with Motion Tween
  6. Object Drawing
  7. Importing Bitmap Graphics
  8. Navigational Interactivity with Actions and Script Assist
  9. Using keyframes and layers to create animations.
  10. Preparing a Flash application for streaming Shockwave

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students will be able to:

  11. prepare Shockwave Flash applications for streaming over the Internet.
  12. solve design and technical problems through the use of critical thinking.
