Program Description

Students who earn the Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinical Applications Diploma will meet the requirements to be employed as an Orthotic/Prosthetic Assistant or enter a Baccalaureate degree or a Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

Program Prerequisites

Orthotic and Prosthetic Fitter AAS OR equivalent skills through work experience in the field assessed by program coordinator OR instructor consent AND BIOL 1020  and PHYS 1020  with a grade of C or higher. Course placement into college-level English and Reading OR completion of ENGL 0950  with a grade of C or higher OR completion of RDNG 0940  with a grade of C or higher and qualifying English Placement Exam OR completion of RDNG 0950  with a grade of C or higher and ENGL 0090  with a grade of C or higher OR completion of ESOL 0051  with a grade of C or higher and ESOL 0052  with a grade of C or higher.

Special Instructions

Admission to the OPCA Diploma program requires a special application and is highly competitive. The college may not be able to accept all applicants that meet the minimum admission standards. See Admissions Office, Advising & Counseling Center or the college website for the application booklet and additional information. Students who earn the Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinical Applications Diploma will meet the requirements to be employed as an Orthotic/Prosthetic Assistant or enter a Baccalaureate degree or a Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
