This program is intended primarily for employment preparation rather than transfer to a four-year institution. Some courses may not transfer to a number of four-year colleges. If you are considering the possibility of transfer, you may wish to talk with your advisor, counselor, or program instructor before registering to discuss your goals, look at programs designed for transfer, and develop a plan.

Program Learning Outcomes

At the end of this program students will be able to:

1. Obtain Certificate in Community Paramedic, and eligibility for Minnesota State Certification as a Community Paramedic.
2. Demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply, and evaluate clinical information relevant to the role of the Community Paramedic.
3. Demonstrate technical proficiency in all skills necessary to fulfill the role of a Community Paramedic.
4. Demonstrate effective communication skills in written and verbal form.
5. Demonstrate effective decision making and critical thinking.
6. Demonstrate affective behavior, acumen, and rapport with patients and healthcare colleagues.
7. Understand the role of the Community Paramedic in the community health system.
