Program Description

The Horticulture Technology Diploma provides students with the technical and communication skills to meet the demand for well-trained personnel in the horticulture industry. In addition to knowledge of plant biology, soil management, and plant selection, students can select elective courses to focus on landscape design and installation, grounds management, or plant production.

Program Learning Outcomes

At the end of this program students will be able to:

  • Prepare production schedules for greenhouse plants.
  • Identify and solve pest, water, and fertility problems of landscape plants.
  • Install and maintain landscape trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants.
  • Plan and install hardscape elements.
  • Demonstrate a strong work and personal ethic through care of horticultural tools and facilities.
