Program Description

The CJS Investigation Certificate is designed for Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement students and working professionals who have an interest in criminal investigations. This certificate program provides students with a comprehensive overview of the methods and techniques used in criminal investigations. It also provides students an opportunity to explore the criminal investigation topics of interview and interrogation and crime scene investigations.

Program Learning Outcomes

At the end of this program students will be able to:

  • Analyze lifelong ethical and professional responsibilities of intelligence and crime analysis personnel.
  • Demonstrate effective decision making, critical thinking, and communication skills in written and verbal form.
  • Examine the interactions within intelligence and crime analysis agencies.
  • Understand hiring practices, training evolutions, subcultures, attitudes and orientation of intelligence and crime analysis agencies.
