ESOL 0052 - Reading V Credits: 3 Hours/Week: Lecture None Lab None Course Description: This course focuses on developing advanced reading skills by reading and analyzing college-level texts of different genres. Topics include reading skills and strategies, new vocabulary and vocabulary strategies, and academic skills needed for success in college. Special emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking skills necessary for comprehension of academic texts in college. MnTC Goals None
Prerequisite(s): Placement into ESOL 0052 OR completion of ESOL 0042 with a grade of “C” or higher. Corequisite(s): None Recommendation: ESOL 0041 and ESOL 0043 with a grade of “C” or higher.
