MUSC 2061 - Advanced Music Theory I Credits: 3 Hours/Week: Lecture None Lab None Course Description: This course is the continuation of MUSC 1062 - Music Theory II . It is an advanced study of chromatic harmony including borrowed chords, Neapolitan 6th chords, augmented 6th chords, extended chords, altered dominants, and chromatic mediants. Students will apply advanced music theory concepts by analyzing music examples and by writing music compositions. MnTC Goals None
Prerequisite(s): None Corequisite(s): None Recommendation: MUSC 1062 and concurrently enrolled in MUSC 2071 .

- Compose using a wide variety of chromatic harmonies.
