ORTE 2045 - Advanced Thermoplastic Lower Extremity Orthoses

Credits: 4
Hours/Week: Lecture 1 Lab 6
Internship hours per week 0
Course Description: This course covers advanced skills and more complex designs of thermoplastic lower extremity orthoses. Hands-on laboratory experiences focus on fabrication of custom thermoplastic orthoses for the lower extremity. Practical skills include producing negative wraps, creating positive plaster models, aligning components, vacuum forming, and finishing orthoses so they are ready for patient fitting.
