Program Description
This certificate prepares students for service and installation of residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. To work in the HVAC-R industry, students must obtain the EPA Section 608 Clean Air Act Certification. As part of the program, students will have the opportunity to take the EPA exam to obtain the required certification.

Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program students will be able to:
- Service, repair, and replace residential and commercial cooling equipment.
- Maintain, order, and stock supplies used in cooling service and repair.
- Perform and keep records of service work completed with residential and commercial customers.
- Demonstrate proper safety, use, storage, and disposal of refrigerant as governed by EPA.
- Demonstrate proper safety and use of tools used in the HVAC-R industry.
