Program Description
The solar Assessor Certificate is designed to prepare students who want to enter the solar job market beyond the entry level. Graduates will be capable of preparing solar system proposals for solar contractors and developers. Proposals may include customer goals, utility bill analysis, system location options, system designs, electrical routing, structural notes and photos, financial analysis, grid connection details, schedules, and contracts.
Graduates will also possess the knowledge and skills to install many different types of solar systems: Grid-tied, off-grid, bi-modal, hybrid, direct and community solar systems. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience installing flashings & racking, mounting electrical components, wiring systems, bending conduit, commissioning systems, and working on rooftops.

At the end of this program students will be able to:
- Describe the importance of and how to use safety equipment and procedures
- Perform site specific analysis to determine solar design and system feasibility
- Develop financial and financing presentations for customers
- Communicate the benefits of solar projects
- Work as a solar installer
