Program Description
The Web Design Diploma prepares students for careers in web design. The program places a strong emphasis on creativity and design. Students are introduced to front and development concepts. Using industry standard software, students learn to build content in HTML5, CSS3 and other modern web languages. A host of web development frameworks along with working knowledge and understanding of modern web design trends, UI/UX, responsive design and the implementation of iterative design processes are explored to better equip students with the skills necessary to execute their designs and compete for jobs designing and developing websites in the web design industry.
This program is part of the Visual Communications Careers area, and its courses do not transfer to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or a Bachelor of Science without special arrangements.

Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program students will be able to:
- Demonstrate web design and development skills that meet entry level industry standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency with technology related to the area of web design and development.
- Prepare and demonstrate a portfolio of work for the annual VCC Program Portfolio Show.
- Create flexible and responsive websites that reflective of entry level industry standards.
