COMM 2033 - Nonverbal Communication

Course Description: Effective communication requires an understanding of nonverbal messages. Students will study a variety of nonverbal communicators, including gestures, facial expression, appearance, vocal cues, space, and time. This course is intended to help students understand and analyze their own and others’ nonverbal communication in interpersonal, intercultural, and workplace relationships.

Prerequisite(s): Assessment score placement into RDNG 1000 or completion of RDNG 0900 or RDNG 0950 with a grade of C or higher, and assessment score placement into ENGL 1021 or completion of ENGL 0090 with a grade of C or higher.
Corequisite(s): None
Recommendation: Completion of ENGL 1021 with a grade of C or higher or concurrent enrollment.

Compare and contrast nonverbal behaviors in a variety of communication contexts.
