Course Description: The Communication Studies Special Topics course provides students with an opportunity to explore growing areas of communication-related interest through the theoretical lenses and skillset frameworks of this discipline. Special Topics course offerings center around unique topics of special interest in Communication Studies which may not be covered in depth in general Communication course offerings, including the impact of communication innovations, communication dimensions of contemporary issues and topics and/or the use of communication skills and channels in rising social movements.

Prerequisite(s): Course placement into college-level English and Reading OR completion of ENGL 0950  with a grade of C or higher OR completion of RDNG 0940  with a grade of C or higher and qualifying English Placement Exam OR completion of RDNG 0950  with a grade of C or higher and ENGL 0090  with a grade of C or higher OR completion of ESOL 0051  with a grade of C or higher and ESOL 0052  with a grade of C or higher.
