HIST 1060 - World History to 1500 Credits: 4 Hours/Week: Lecture 4 Lab None Course Description: This course explores the ancient world into the early modern period in all its global diversities, including global themes and regional variations. The class stresses intellectual and social developments, which provide the foundation for the emergence of the modern world. In addition to examining the past, the course familiarizes students with the uses and limitations of historical sources, how knowledge about the past is produced, and the relevance of history to contemporary issues and questions.
