ADM 2010 - Additive Manufacturing Processes

Credits: 3
Hours/Week: Lecture 2 Lab 2
Course Description: This foundational course covers Additive Manufacturing or more commonly known as 3D printing. This hands-on course focuses on Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printing technology. Emphasis is placed on the proper methods and processes for successful printing, including aspects such as selecting proper materials, and determining printing variables and successful part design for additive manufactured components.

Prerequisite(s): Course placement into college-level English and Reading OR completion of ENGL 0950  with a grade of C or higher OR completion of RDNG 0940  with a grade of C or higher and qualifying English Placement Exam OR completion of RDNG 0950  with a grade of C or higher and ENGL 0090  with a grade of C or higher OR completion of ESOL 0051  with a grade of C or higher and ESOL 0052  with a grade of C or higher.  
Corequisite(s): None
Recommendation: ECAD 1025  and ECAD 2053  with a grade of C or higher.

  5. recommend modifications to 3D files for successful printing.
  6. use various slicing programs
  7. evaluate real-life scenarios and recommend the appropriate use of 3D printing technology.
